Trilby wool hat

The Trilby hat has had a real resurgence in popularity over the past ten years, however we’ve been selling this style for far longer than that because if it’s not broken why fix it?!

The outer of our trilby is made of woollen tweed in traditional colours – please note these may vary slightly as the natural fibres can vary the colour slightly and the tweed woven slightly differently, making every hat unique.

The style of the hat features a short brim all the way around the hat, while the top of the hat features a little dip. Every hat will also have a feather or two in the side of it, just above the brim on the left hand side (as you wear it).

The Trilby is so called because a gentleman wore this style of hat in the first stage performance in London of George du Maurier's 1894 novel Trilby. Before its recent surge back to the forefront of fashion the Trilby hat was hugely popular in the 1960s - both Frank Sinatra and Sean Connery’s James Bond were proud wearers of this style of hat.  We’d like to think that if they were to choose a Trilby hat these days, they’d probably pick ours.

Made in the UK from 100% wool (outer).
